As you can see, it has been a very long time since my last blog post. In the middle of another year with a sizzling summer, I want to update you. Soon this will be my third year as a textile designer on the made to order gift website, Zazzle! Textile designer... what is that? Before you Google it, let me explain. I am a graphic artist that prints my art on the surface of objects like paper, plastic, wood, glass, cloth, etc.
Over these three years, I learned so much as an independent artist. I have to admit, last year, I did not know the formal name of my industry. I though more of myself as a graphic designer that makes unique customizable gifts. Gift design is what I do, but I have learned the formal names of my art process are textile design and surface design.
Somewhere in my busy lifestyle as a super hero, designing gives me an outlet of expression. Even though my inspirations come from many places, my family truly inspires many of my designs. I am greatly humbled that people choose to make my art part of their memorable life moments. I hope to make their creative gift experiences even better as I continue to develop as an artist.
By the way, that is me in the picture above. Not the mannequin but the short green mermaid-hair lady next to the mannequin. It is a funny post on Instagram. You should take a peek. Follow my blog with Bloglovin
